I haven't seen it but thanks for the report. I don't know how she could expect the guy to not make noise during a renovation.

There are noise laws in NYC and there are limitations on building permits.

When I worked as a doorman in NYC, there were strict rules about what kind of equipment contractors could use and what hours they could be used.

She was probably deciding to give him a tongue-lashing before taking the next step of calling the police.

Which she was well within her rights to do.

Also, in my experience, decent people ask their neighbors what hours are good for them.
