As a side note, it appears that Joe Paterno will be on the sidelines in some capacity this week against Temple. He's a tough SOB and I'm pretty sure his actions in the next 3 weeks will be used nationwide by coaches looking to motivated slightly injured athletes. Whoa, whoa, whoa. What are you referencing here? Has something happened to Joe Pa?

Whoa, whoa, whoa. What are you referencing here? Has something happened to Joe Pa? Yeah. A play went into the sidelines and his TE and a Wisconsin LB took out his leg, hyperextending his knee, breaking his tibia, and doing a bit of other assorted ligament damage. The doctors first couldn't get him to set down, then had to pursuade him to let them immobilize it, then after a while eventually they got him to let them take him into the locker room.

One of his player's helmet accidentally collided with Paterno's left knee and shin after being forced out of bounds. Paterno had surgery to repair a fractured shin and torn ligaments in his left knee.
Paterno undergoes successful surgery, plans to coach
