Wow. Hard to believe that this is the largest single collection of my works and thoughts. (Anyone know an easy way to pull an archive copy of all my posts?)
Think about it, how many forums are worth 50,000 posts?
No other ones in my estimation!
Thanks to Jim for building this virtual house, and turning it into a home for so many of us.
I'd also like to thank everyone who has invited me into their studies, offices, living rooms, bedrooms, and cubicles. You are all people I would like to meet some day, those of you who have agreed with me, and especially those who have disagreed with me.
The civil discourse, reasoned responses, Richter scale sarcasm, humor, and irony available on FreeRepublic is without peer. I feel like I've gotten a college level education in darn near everything!
There is always a FReeper somewhere who knows the inside scoop on anything, and is willing to share what they can about any given topic. It is so refreshing to be pulled up short on an incorrect concept by someone who actually has experience, not just book larnin', and can explain the facts of the matter in a clear, concise, and (usually) respectful manner.
You are all responsible for major changes in my understanding of, and attitudes towards, much of what I see in the world. It hasn't always been smooth transitions, and the road has been awfully bumpy in places, but it as always been worth the trip. Not a bad journey for a fat old fart...

Congratulation! Is there a way to put them all into a book to pass down to your grandchildren?

Pretty good. I finished off my last gig, and am in the process of co-founding a new company.

An auspicious day for my 50,000th post.
If the weather is good, I spend most of my weekends outside working around the yard........

Click on "More" on the top of any page, and the actual #'s should appear right at the top.

The question is when did they start counting? My sign-up date is off by about 6-9 months (there was a glitch during a software upgrade), and I posted for quite a while before registration. FWIW "You've posted a total of 8 threads and 2,113 replies." can at best be considered an estimate or a SWAG.

I think most of them were attempts at getting a cheap laugh.

Thank you for making me even more famous-er.
Funny how I pressed my paw-print again, but this time didn't even run away (well maybe a little), but my pop-up blocker prevented me from taking the back-door tunnel to the threads, or whatever it is supposed to do. Muttly knows that HE didn't dig that tunnel...for a change....so it may be booby-trapped or something.
He will explore it when nobody is looking, though.
