Haggard's accuser fails lie detector
Denver Post ^ | 11/03/2006 | Mike McPhee

Posted on 11/03/2006 7:57:35 AM PST by bahblahbah

Ted Haggard's accuser failed a polygraph test early this morning about the truthfulness of his accusations that he had had a three-year homosexual affair with the influential Colorado Springs minister.

The test was given to Michael Jones, 49, an admitted male prostitute, who made the allegations on the Peter Boyles Show on radio station KHOW Thursday morning.

The shocking allegations were denied by Haggard, who told KUSA-9News he never took part in a homosexual affair and had always been faithful to his wife, with whom he has 5 children.

So Boyles invited Jones to take a polygraph test at 5 a.m. this morning.

The test administrator, John Kresnik, said Jones' score indicated "deceptions" in his answers. However, Kresnik said he doubted the accuracy of the test he administered because of the recent stress on Jones and his inability to eat or sleep, according to KHOW producer Greg Hollenback.

Kresnik suggested that Jones be re-tested early next week after he was rested.

Examine the prostitutes financial records carefully and see if he has had a sudden influx of cash.

Polygraph tests are notoriously ineffective. That's why they're not admissible in court.

Didn't he already say he had been working with the Denver Post for three months to get this story released?

Yes, shouldn't we **always** believe someone who is working in an illegal profession - prostitution (not in Nevada), and regularly performs immoral sex acts with complete strangers.

Give him some time, get a few Polygraph experts to coach him on how to beat the machine , then test him again.

Just another attempt by the left to prove to us that Christians sin. Wonder of wonders.

I thought that is why God sent his son die on the Cross; for redemption for our sins.

Ted Haggard's accuser failed a polygraph test
This is non-news to me.
I've had a polygraph test before. The "investigators" told me that I failed it and said the same thing. "Come back and re-test when you are rested." I did and they told me that I again failed it. It was really like out of a movie - Good cop, Bad cop.
I didn't have a clue about the event in question.
To be fair, I don't know if I really failed it or they were just trying to rattle me but we arrived at the point where I told them that I was tired of fooling with it and went home.
I never heard another peep about it, but telling me anyone passed or failed a lie detector test is the same as telling me that they wore blue socks today - it is irrelevant and has no meaning.

You're correct. All the polygraph does is measure body reaction, the interpretation is purely subjective.

This is typical of how gay flames will lie in order to discredit and slander anyone who opposes gay marriage. These are very evil vicious people.I believe a Catholic Cardinal in Chicago by the name of Bernadin was also proven to be falsely accused of a homo affair. These people are dispicable.

True. And many sociopaths can pass them even when guilty. These tests can be useful in trying to extract select information.

BTW, on a couple of shows and on AOL this story was picked up and Kerry's scandal was dropped.

While this story has gotten so far relatively big play, the scandals involving Crouch, a far more colorful and controversial individual, and Benny Hinn were largely ignored by the MSM in my area. Makes one wonder about the timing.

"Polygraph tests are notoriously ineffective. That's why they're not admissible in court."

Being notoriously ineffective is not why they are not admissible in court. They are not admissible in court because of the 5th amendment.

If they were admissible in court, then a defendant NOT taking one would indicate guilt. ie; something to hide..., so all defendants would be forced to take them.

Agreed. Especially since Haggard apparently acknowledged some of the accusations were true.

Looking back on that couple of weeks it is quite funny, but it wasn't at the time.
They sat down and went over all the questions they were going to ask me before the test, then hooked me up and asked them.
The first time I thought it was pretty cool because I thought the thing actually worked.
After the first test the "bad cop" came in, sat down, and said: "We can tell a lot of things from this test. One thing I can tell is that you are scared to death." To which I said: "Sure I am, we didn't need to have this test to find that out."
Of cores he wanted to know why I was scared so I told him that I was scared because he didn't really care one way or the other if I was guilty of anything. He just needed something to put on the blank line of his paperwork.
Things went down hill from there.
