The major question is, how, in "Wrath of Khan", did Chekov know about Khan, since he didn't join the crew until after the encounter? ;') Simple, Chekov learned about the whole Botany Bay encounter while attending Starfleet Academy. Any Star Trek geek knows that! :~D

He didn't join the 'visible' bridge crew until afterwards. Chekov could have been a yeoman before promotion. At least he wasn't this guy.
