The guy who mows our lawn had to sell his farm and start a landscaping service. He says that when he had the farm he knew all his milk cows by name.

Once he visited the farm he sold them to. He spotted one of his cows, went up to her and called her by name.

He says they both stood their crying.

#7 I believe it. Animals know kindness and love.

It's been said that people give off a scent that animals can use to help judge the person and their intentions. Their senses are typically keener than those of a human.

Oh, that is so sad... :(

I have mourning issues with road kill, so a crying cow just breaks my heart. If I had to be a farmer I'd also have to be a vegetarian, I couldn't think about eating what could have been my own steer. Chickens,OTOH, deserve to be eaten.

Beautiful story. That is a good illustration of why I am a vegetarian.

There are many deer wandering around our property and I have seen the does and fawns interacting a lot. They love their children, and care for them with great affection.

Why cause pain to a living creature when I can live just fine without killing animals? Of course, there is a little consciousness in the vegetable kingdom, but not much. And humans have to live, too.
