I think our perpetual campaign season is creating a lot of divisions that need not exist. Nothing scares govt. more than a united public.
As much as I hate to say it, I don't think we can win wars anymore. The reason is not that we "can't" win, it is because the leftist media (and the world in general) won't let us. Objective victory is no longer enough. Now we have to win the political victory above everything else. (Note that is possible to completely lose objectively and still win politically.)
The problem is that political victory is subjective and often gets defined by our enemies rather than ourselves.
