My take is the BCS poll is rigged toward schools that get wide national exposure on TV from the PAC-10, the ACC, the SEC and the Big East.

FWIW, I agree with you completely. That's why we need a playoff system in place that will put all challengers on the field and let us see who's really the national champion. Last year I'd have put my Nittany Lions up against Texas or USC, and I'm confident the result would've been darn close.
