2. I agree with President Bush's national security policy with the exception of the Mexican border situation, although it looks to be improving. On everything else I completely support him.
3. The United Nations affects the security of the United States in several ways:
a. It legitimizes dictators and marginal countries and gives them far more voice than they would otherwise have.
b. It allows for spies to legitimately live in the USA.
c. It allows for anti-US governments to collude while dining on the American taxpayer's dime.
d. It prevents the US from acting in cases in which we normally would have acted, in the pre-UN days. Examples: Dafur, Rwanda, North Korea, Iran, etc.
4. I think that "security moms" played a roll in the 2004 election, but not to the extent that the media thinks...else President Bush would have won by a higher margin.
5. Those who have done the most for national security are the men and women of the United States military. President Bush has supported them and has made sure they realize they are appreciated, as has VP Cheney and Secretary Rumsfeld.
I think Donald Rumsfeld will be seen as having been one of the most effective defense secretaries in history, and President Bush is to be credited for hiring and supporting him.

I'll make sure I tell Rummy you said that. Lol ;)
