I call the Domino's Pizza in nearby Berkley where we always order from and they always deliver.
They are closed for remodeling. The recording says "If you're north of 12 Mile, call our Birmingham store at 248-___-______. Okay, so I call.
I give them my address. I live on - get this - 12 Mile Road.
They ask, "Is that north side or south side of 12 Mile?"
I hesitate. "Um, south side."
The guy calls his manager. "Sorry, we don't deliver there."
WTF?????
Okay, so I have the Elaine Benes conversation. "But we're right on the border. We're just across the street. I'll meet you on the other side."
I talk to the manager and argue with her, Her final answer? "Sorry, you're just outside of our delivery area. We can't help you. And there are no other Domino's that deliver there."
Am I in the Twilight Zone here?
Excuse me, I'm going to find a janitor's closet across the street. I wonder if they have flounder?
