Gods, Graves, Glyphs (alpha order)
Not many people are "purely" anything. I wonder if all of these other "anythings" show up in these DNA screenings?
IMHO it would make more sense to use the Y chromosomes, plus blood type (chromosome 9 I believe, although obviously there are easier ways). :')
Today's Oprah, Zulu story?
I can think of a better place to have done the j'accuse thing, such as here:

"Most black Americans descend from West Africa, where the vast majority of slaves were seized..."
By other black tribes and Arabs.
Oh, go ahead. Most of the thread is from 2005, I'm sure everyone who posted comments would love to know where they stand with you.
A lot of White Americans are unsure of all the places our family came from. Unless your family came within the last 100 years or so and with so many marriages across ethnic groups, many of us are a real Heinz 57 mix of various Europeans other ethnicities and weve have lost track.
I know Im half Norwegian because my father was born there but then even he wasnt sure if there wasnt some Scotch on his fathers side. I know my mothers maternal grandparents came from Germany because I have their naturalization papers from the mid-eighteen hundreds. She thought her fathers side came from England but also thought they might have been Welsh the family name Gibb being more likely Welsh.
My bothers kids are: Norwegian, German, English and or Welsh, Irish, Dutch, and about 25% Cherokee on their mothers side - at least thats what we think.
It's glaringly obvous, page 1.

It's also glaringly obvious that, if you've got a complaint about another topic, it belongs in that topic, not in this one.
I suggest you check the titles and material of the two articles, for your topic.
I'm half Scotch and half soda! [rimshot!]
Quite agree -- I've got a typically weird American family tree. I know some of the lines back twelve generations, and have never found any crossroads (common ancestors on multiple lines), which suggests a pretty broad origin map for yours truly.
The original article for this topic also stated that Y chromosome studies wouldn't be useful because they might lead to Europe rather than Africa. That's really cranial-rectal inversion at work. My question is for that company is, "Ya wanna know your origins, or not?"
I posted this one as a reply to yours:

...but removed your name because of the size of it, as I didn't want to inconvenience you (that can muck up the "my comments" screen).
I suggest you check the titles and material of the two articles, for your topic.Yeah, I can see what you mean -- this article came from the Washington Post in 2006, while that other one came from the New York Post in 2005.
TV talk-show host Oprah Winfrey took a test that linked her to the Kpelle people of what is now Liberia.Liberia is in West Africa, not South Africa.
