Steve Centanni Back to Work at FOX (Vanity)
FOX News Channel
Posted on 10/20/2006 8:06:09 AM PDT by pillut48
Hey, did anyone else catch Steve Centanni last night? He was doing one of those half-hour live updates during the evening shows. He may have come back earlier, but that was the first time I've seen him since his kidnapping a few months ago. Glad to see him looking well, considering the alternative!

You bring nothing to this debate. Being holier than thou sitting to judge what's in a mans heart. I say it again...you folks on FR who beat your chest while typing away about how great you are with Christ piss me off...let's see you in Afghanistan or Iraq with a madman willing to cut our throat with a rusty blade. Would Christ want you to throw away your life for a punk Islamist? Get real!

And because there are people who wonder if they'd be so willing to renounce their faith? I hardly think it's renouncing one's faith when it's a forced and conversion. I'd have no problems lying my head off, rather than having it cut off. I think God can tell the difference between the words of my mouth and the words of my heart.
I think it's foolishness, at best, to criticize whichever decision someone makes in such a moment of crisis. It's the behavior afterwards that matters.

It's the behavior afterwards that matters. Haven't heard him speak out on the matter... maybe he was an atheist before his 'conversion'.

I didn't judge anyone. Personally, I'm not very religious.
It is you who are judging those who don't see things your way. And, it is sad to see you trot out the old "let's see you go over there" line.

Again, I didn't criticize centanni for converting.
Although, if he did just to save his skin, I haven't heard that he has gone back.

You would have only been satisfied if he were murdered? How Christ-like of you.

I'm not an armchair soldier. That doesn't mean I shouldn't use my common sense about what he said and did, including after he returned when he said he hoped people would still report on the Palestinians because they were such wonderful people. Yeah, so wonderful you had to convert to Islam to save your skin. I also took note of what his family said about him: "a wonderful friend to the Palestinians." Well, now I know his bias. I will never trust his reporting again.

What Centanni did was taqqiya, pure and simple. He lied to the bastard murderers to protect himself and his faith.
I'm sure God is more than understanding.

Christ does not need your death. He needs to to be alive and show the world the greatness of Christianity.

"What would YOU do under the same situation?" I would hope that in that situation I would never claim allah as anything more than a false god regardless of what weapon they'd use against me or mine. I've got eternity to look forward to. Right On!!!
