Odalis Perez vs. Jeff Suppan
Personally, I'd use Wakes as a swingman starter/reliever/all-purpose arm. Wasn't really impressed with him at all last year, but I hope it was just the rib problem. Otherwise, I'd keep him in the system as either an active player or in the coaching ranks for as long as he wants. To me, he's the modern-day Johnny Pesky of the Red Sox.
The only name I'm not familiar with on that list is Matsuzaka...
Daisuke Masuzaka...RP phenom from Japan...MVP of the World Baseball Classic and likely to the subject of an intense bidding war between all the major MLB franchises, including the "you-know-who's"...
Yep. Sidearm can impart a lot of spin, force the grounders and in some cases, produce a wide, wide curve (or slurve). The key is to take him to the opposite field if you're a right handed batter. Swing down on the slurve to right field.
Oooh. You really are a troublemaker. nutmeg is liable to bop you in the head with a fryin pan.
Yeah Tim, they are the "raining" world champions. May, it's coming down cats and dogs and Tucker's foot is barking after the foul off his foot.
I'm waiting for Wagner to come into the 9th in a tie game and watching Pujols hit some moon shot like he did off Brad Lidge last year that will land in Steinbrenner's owners box.
BTW, there will be no rain delay. This is national television.
Poppppppppped Tucker up on a 1-2 pitch, 1 out bottom of 7th, all tied at 1
Reggie! Reggie!
On to the 8th....the noose tightens....
Week grounder for out one. Spiezio (red burr on chin) fooled on the first pitch. Melina going to sneak one by inside.
Oooooooooohl. Nails Spezio on the inside part of the plate. 2 out.
Fair piece of piching out by Molina. Big Bat walk and the loser Encarnasion up. Used to have him with the Reds. Choke artist. Molina's working him inside but watch the offspeed outside pitch to put him away.
Pujols should sue for non-support.
If Cards somehow get out of this half-inning still tied, this will get v-e-r-y interesting.
Beltran, delGato to come to the plate, tho.
Suppan starts the bottom of the 8th??
Hmmmmmmmm...............
They screwed with Suppan's head by spreading that dust around the pitcher's mound.
Meanwhile, Wagner is warming up. Here's what I learned about him in Houston - he's a great closer but a disaster in non-save situations.
