"True. Maybe we'll see two Big Ten v. Pac 10 matchups in BCS bowls this year..."
It's doubtful that USC will run the table from here on out. Too many injuries and a number of difficult games coming up. Plus, in the really big games, you need some skill position players to do special things, make a huge play that turns things around. Thus far, USC hasn't had anyone step up, primarily due to their inexperience and that receivers like Jarrett and Smith have been hurt. QB, RB's, Receivers, they've all been solid, but unspectacular, hence the many close games they've played. Pete Carroll is really good, though. This program is very well coached.
I'm surprised you have the big East so high.
I think the Big East has been consistently underrated this entire year.
I think that one through 4, going from West Virginia to Louisville to Rutgers to Pitt, they are much better than last year.
They need one more team, like a USF or a UCONN or someone to get any higher, but I'd put them up against anyone from the Big XII except Texas and Nebraska.
LOL...So true.
They were shaken pretty badly when some of their good teams left for other conferences.
they were yes, but I mean Texas A&M is the 3rd/4th best team in the Big XII and they almost lost to Army....
As usual, this will all get sorted out by the bowl games, but I'm certain of 3 things...
the ACC sucks this year....
The SEC is the best conference but it lacks a truly dominant team...
The Big Ten isn't as top heavy as some would suggest. Iowa, Penn State and Wisconsin will all make good bowl games and if Michigan or Ohio State weren't in the top 2, Wisconsin would have an outside shot at a BCS game.
BCS Rankings coming up...
My prediction
1 Ohio State
2 Michigan
3 USC
4 Auburn
5 West Virginia
I haven't been close all weekend....
sorry for the double ping...we have rankings:
1 Ohio State .976
2 Michigan .945
3 USC .943
4 West Virginia .755
5 Auburn .747
6 Florida .726
7 Texas .724
8 Louisville .722
9 Notre Dame .673
10 Cal .668
they're already out

Well it looks like the ideal setup for the Wolverines and the Buckeyes. An undefeated #1 meets an undefeated #2, with the winner claiming the Big Ten championship, the undisputed #1 ranking, and a berth in the national championship game, while the loser claims only bitter regrets and tears. Perfect!
I know....the site refreshed after I hit post (I'd been waiting for it and just let it fly before I checked again :))
the Loser will probably end up no lower than 4th in the BCS and will end up in another BCS game....
but bitter regrets and tears works too I guess...
Scenario: USC loses before the regular season ends.
Mich and Ohio State has to go to triple overtime.
I think the space/time/continuum breaks and we are free of the BCS forever....
:-)
LOL!!!
maybe maybe....
hey we have Spielman on the Sunday night game.....I like his announcing style.
Michigan, while a good team, is still living a bit off of the ND win with everyone.
ND is horribly overrated I think.
And I think USC may just lose 2 games. Cal can beat them and hell ND could as well.
If ND runs the table, they will be cannon fodder for whichever BCS team they face....
If Baseball doesn't hold your interest and since there isn't an NFL game tonight, there IS college football.
USF is at Cincinnati. It's on ESPN at this time.
Enjoy!
True. Unfortunately, the Horseshoe will be silent as an assured OSU win will result in couches being used as kindling along High Street. Hopefully, there will be a huge police presence to take all the troublemakers straight to jail. No excuses.
Getting back to the game, OSU 24 - scUM 13. That 73rd rated Michigan pass defense will be surrendering slant passes to Gonzo all day long.
Also tell LLLLoyd to take it easy on Hart. Dude has more carries than any other back in the nation. I want him and Manningham both at 100%. We don't want to listen to any lame excuses.
btw - while the playing field is a bit tore up it has been checked...there is no crown present. So scratch that one off the list as well.
USC will be favored in every game they play the rest of the regular season. It's very popular to diss them right now, but they're likely to be undefeated. If UCLA could nearly beat Notre Dame in their house, the Irish won't like what faces them in Los Angeles.
anything can and will happen in that game.
Hopefully USC found it's offense game on the bye week.
You may be correct, I googled and found conflicting info on the rules for that situation.
I take it that you hadn't yet read where I wrote "Didn't make a difference in the outcome of the game"...
