Actually, you have that backwards. For example, we're almost exactly at the point where a majority of citizens pay no Federal income tax. Already, the income tax burden is shouldered almost entirely by a pathetically small minority of productive citizens. On average, a U.S. citizen works "for the government" until well into May each year, but that masks the situation. Very close to a majority of folks now work not a day "for the government" in terms of their income tax. Those who actually pay the bills essentially labor long into the summer. Who are the morons, then?
