This is like shooting yourself in the head to cure a broken leg.

Very much like that. Like the booze isn't killing the brain cells fast enough.

I hate to tell them but when I was a youngster buying acid, I made sure to keep plenty of beer money handy because I knew I would be drinking to take the edge off.

Speaking as an alcoholic with nearly 16 years of sobriety who took a lot of LSD while drinking, I can promise you that THIS DOES NOT WORK!

Being old enough to remember LSD pushed as a panacea, and with experience to the contrary, an emphatic Not this (bleep) again!

No kidding. The thing was I could drink incredible ammounts of alcohol without getting drunk but I tended to crave beer more than usual.

Hmmm, anyone ever tried not drinking as a "cure".
Perhaps much clinical study is neccesary before such radical methods are tried.
To: cripplecreek
I remember around 5 in the morning needing to get enough booze in me to try to sleep.

I got a DUI once when I was 20. My blood alcohol was .013, but I couldn't drive because I was too busy tripping.
I never felt alcohol on acid. NOTHING touched acid, asolutely nothing.
That trip downtown in the trooper's Mustang was one of the coolest experiences ever- followed by actually arriving there, which was a major buzzkill.
