If my memory serves me right [and it sometimes does not!],wasn't there a signal received in the 50's-60's-70's [I don't remember the date] from the area of Beatleguse [a dying red giant star, about to go supernova] that the signal said something like "we are moving from the second star to the 3rd". We never could follow up on that signal, by then the star enveloped the 3rd planet.

I have always felt that we were not the only intelligent lifeforms out here. To quote a movie "it would seem a offel waste of space"

I seriously doubt we could decipher anything we received.

There's nothing to this. Drake's first attempt picked up a strong, brief signal that was never repeated. No messages have come from ET civilizations -- at least, nothing that has ever been recognized as such. Try a search though on "the Wow signal", which was picked up (again, never repeated) at (I think) Ohio State.
