"No, the courageous Collin and his Two buddies spotted a guy by himself and started calling him "gay" because they were big tough guys."

And you know this because? What went on before that? What happened inside the eatery? Was Finnerty being harrassed first and taunted about whether he was gay? Is that what brought on the fracas outside?

Of course, the "fair" judge Bayly never permitted testimony about any of that in court; he cut it off in mid-sentence.

This was doubtless to help out his buddy US attorney Wainstein out of a jam--because he couldn't let a rich white preppie kid slide without it looking like favoritism. So eight federal attorneys and nine additional staff were tossed into the prosecution.

Meanwhile, Cynthia McKinney gets to skate.

Both these racially charged cases were decided upon by the political needs of the US attorney, who is now confirmed as assistant US attorney general, and who will likely be appointed a judge before Bush is out of office. The guy is a fast-riser and no one wants to see his career derailed by two minor cases which nevertheless had the potential to damage him if the defendants weren't handled in the way the mob wanted.

"The guy told them to stop."

And Finnerty gets punched in the back of the head and knocked down--which is odd unless he was walking away
from his assailant.

Police say there are about a dozen of these kinds of fights every night in Georgetown. But none are prosecuted--OOPS!
Except this one, which requires a huge salvo from the federal government (for a misdemeanor).

"Finnerty may not be a rapist, but he's a punk."

Maybe so, but that's not been made criminal, yet. . .

Don't confuse people with the facts.

There you go again. :)

Actually, I was incorrect, the "victim" was not alone but with a friend when the altercation occurred. My original post was in response to an earlier post where the poster said she wouldn't mind having sons like Reade, David and Collin. I then gave my opinion about each of them. Amazingly, Finnerty refused to testify in his own trial.

Good post, CF.

There's nothing happened in any courtroom anywhere, so far, that has given me to believe that any of the three boys has ever instigated anything physically harmful to another person out of anger, maliciousness or being a "punk."

O/T: I have wondered for some time what would have happened to 2 white girls hired by 30 black NCCU basketball players to strip if they were paid $800 for 2 hours and quit after 5 minutes.

He's not a punk. Actually, he strikes me as being shy. My brothers all got into these kinds of street fights. This is life - you don't have to be perfect.
