Yes, sadly Schumacher's has closed. Their wild game was excellent.
We've got a pretty good German place in our area called Bayrischer Hof in Montrose. I'd rate it above Black Forest and Gasthof Zur Gemutlichkeit. Their spareribs and kraut are excellent. Oddly enough, they are not listed on the menu, which is extensive. (insider knowledge :))

Wife and I & some friends made dinner and overnight reservations at Schumachers in January, just as the relatives and Christmas travel wrapped up. We pigged out on 7 or 8 courses (had to get up and walk outside between the 3rd and 4th, which I think was a heavy German noodle dish) and then retired to our little hotel rooms. Each had a whirlpool tub and gas fireplace. Wife and I steamed up the place. Had to open a window to breathe at one point. A guy standing below our second floor window was amazed when we threw open the sash and a boatload of steam came out...
