Missing student's body found
My friends make me call them when I get home after I leave them, and I'm 56 years old!
I feel the same way. She was with two male friends and they just left early without finding out who would escort her home. Remember when women had to be escorted places. Why did the feminists do this to women? Now they are out at all god-forsaken hours of the night, in bars, talking to strangers. Chivalry is dead. Thank you very much Friedan, Steinam and other ugly worthless witches.
Her female friends could've walked with her, too. But women seem to have been given this loony sense of entitlement, that they should be able to do anything they want just because they want. No matter how dumb, or how much it violates common sense. Sure, it sucks not to be able to go where you want unaccompanied, but your rights aren't going to mean diddly to a predator.
Personally I wished they would have performed the execution in the middle of Florida Field during Gator Growl.
This is a terrible, terrible thing. It is so sad that as soon as you hear about a beautiful young girl or a child going missing, you can pretty much figure that there is going to be a tragic ending.
And, when did the word "assault" take the place of the word "rape"? This bothered me in the reporting of the Amish girls tragedy. They (MSM) said that the suspect planned to assault the girls. He was going to rape them. Are they trying to make it seem less important?
No matter what time I leave her place...no matter how much of the day we've been together.
"Honey...I'm home safe".
Well, when the tones go off in my rural village I get up out of bed all by my lonesome and go out to save the world. Often I see the lady cop out on patrol as I drive to the station. A woman needs to be smart and self reliant. 2 a.m. in a sleazy bar district is bad, 2 a.m. in a sleepy little town is safer. None of our ramblings excuses the sicko who did this.
FWIW, I don't think anyone's trying to take any responsibility away from the predator. I think it's more frustration with the way folks can go out of their way to place themselves in harm's way. You can't rid the world of perps, but you can do things to lower your risk of being prey.
That is a beautiful poem. So poignant, and so true.
May God be with the parents of this poor girl, Michelle, who for one moment at closing time let her guard down.
And may it be a cautionary tale to all young women.
Just promoting clarity here.
"I'm with you. Mine is living at home and I still worry about her. She has night classes and a 30-40 minutes drive. I have her call when she leaves school. It used to be "aw Mom." Now it's just a resigned "ok" to keep the mama happy."
I so know where you're coming from. I could have written your post. It's good to know that I'm not the only mom out there who does the "call when you leave" thing :)
They all think they're invincible.
Truth is you can go to any college town, any downtown in any city and see young people bar hopping, sometimes till 4am.
That day is not to be forgotten. The children of this age will never have the freedom our kids had. Never again feel totally safe when flying, when entering a sports arena where you have to have a security check......life is changed forever. And these tragedies will just add to the general unrest in the population. That unease. Sometimes it's just impossible to think things can get worse, but it does. The plane crash in NY brought endless flashbacks. Unexpected but then it's there waiting......
I talk to my daughter till I'm blue in the face. Then I pray and pray some more.
My most sincere condolences to her family.
You've got good friends! Treasure them!
Every once in a while, I meet a mom who says what you do. If my daughter is at the function with me, I drag her over and make them repeat it. She just hates this stuff. I tell her that's ok, that she had just better do it for my granddaughter (should God bless me with one... or two... or three... or... ok, I won't push it)!
This case reminds me SO much of Taylor Behl. They zeroed in on the man almost immediately, searched his house, held him on another charge, and found sex charges. The MO is so similar. This makes me very angry.
