"A lot of these broads are so focused on their careers they neglect the man, and he goes lookin' for what he ain't gettin' at home."
If my wife made the kind of money Sara Evans makes, she could neglect me all she wanted. I'd just console myself with a shiny new truck and maybe a fishing boat.
I'd rather have the pleasures of the marriage bed, to put it delicately.
Amen to that, Brother.
Dolly Parton and her husband have been married for well over 40 years. He stays out of the limelight, hadn't ever even seen her perform unless he has done so recently. However, he hasn't ever needed her money. He was working when she met him in a laundromat (on her first day in Nashville before she got famous) and has always worked - in construction, built up his own construction company - then, too, he has sort of a knack for picking real estate. Once several years ago, he bought some remote acreage in the middle of nowhere and when he told Dolly about it, she wondered what in the world he wanted with wilderness land. Now, it is the land on which the Saturn automotive complex is setting. So, not all of those husbands are kept men, but probably a lot of them are if they're the lazy sort.
