I was intentionally knocking him on his butt at my coaches direction.

These kids were intentionally hitting him with a baseball at their coaches direction.

Neather is intentionally injuring him (except his feelings I suppose).

Both are risks you accept when you play ball. If he was too frail (physically or emotionally) to play t-ball he should have stayed home.
