I do not recommend carrying a gun if you have any doubt that you can kill another person, and I do not recommend carrying a gun unless you have a good sense about when killing is an appropriate response to a threat. If a gun comes out in a fight, bet on some one dying

you are using the wrong words, you dont CCW to kill, you carry CCW to defend you life or life of family or otherrs.

You want to go to jail just keep talking kill issue, or most certainly will get someone else in much trouble.

I do agree you must be able to pull the trigger.

I think we are on the same page. I liked your post. I don't think people carrying concealed weapons want to kill another person. I just think that people who want to carry a gun understand that a gun isn't a magic wand that makes problems go away. Pulling a gun is life and death. It can escalate things as easy as it can defuse them. People who want to carry a gun for protection need to understand that pulling it very well might change their life, for the worse, forever. That is, if they survive the following few seconds at all.

Most people don't ever need a gun for protection. Forget rights. I agree most everyone has a Constitutional right to own a gun. I don't think most people need to carry a gun, and I don't think most people should. I think people who want to carry a gun should think about what it means to either be killed themselves in something would have ended better if they weren't armed, or think about the likelihood that if the use a gun for protection it means dealing with the legal, financial, psychological, and moral consequences of taking another life. If they don't understand that, they shouldn't carry a gun. In the end, a gun is used to kill. Even if that killing saves your own life, it's still killing, with all those real life consequences. It's life and death out there.
