Please announce to me what a proper announcement is. Maybe I just am way to dense after working a 15 hour day on the border? To me chat would be "Hey Freepers, what did you think of the show tonight", or "What is your favorite TV show?"

An announcement to me is dissiminaiton of information which I find Freeper-like, or geared towards conservatism (do unto others and do the right thing).

My intention is to not discuss the show, but to ANNOUNCE that a NEW SHOW is coming online that many people may not be aware of....just doesn't have the "chat" feel to it for me.

Set me straight please. Thanks.

I don't speak for management but I always understood that announcements were just what you copied in your reply above. Not to announce TV shows.

When Jim created the separate forums he created a lot of special topics for stories he knew many wanted to post, but that did not belong in the FReerepublic news category.

I think your announcement of a aTV show, regardless of content, rightly belongs in the chat - tv/movies forum.
