Jeez, it seems the entire United States loves the South, its sports, its beautiful lands, its low cost of living....they just hate us as a people. They hate our heritage, our history, our loyalty to our decendants. Reminds me of the line from the British King in Braveheart...

The problem with the South is that it's full of Southerners.

Well, history is a funny thing, if some people don't like it, they just make up a new one.

I dont think that folks from the north HATE southerners. I believe that many of them DON'T UNDERSTAND the South. They dont understand the culture and the pride. The South is not just a geographic area... in many ways it's a way of life-- a lot of big city Yankees don't realize that. You can't tar every person from the North with the same bursh and say 'we hate you'- thats not true at all!

Keep in mind, this article was probably written by some liberal that lives on the upper west side of Manhattan. The closest that the author of the article has even gotten to being in the country was at some mock 'dude ranch' in Northern New Jersey 45 minutes outside on Manhattan. The big city types will make most of the noise about the flag.

Consider the source from the article and don't think that all of us Yanks 'hate ya'. I went to the NASCAR Pocono 500 back in the spring in Pennsylvania. There were plenty of people that had Rebel flags on their trucks and Campers. Did it bother me? Absolutly Not! The group parked next to me was from North Carolina and had one on their SUV. The group I was with chatted with them and we had a few beers together before we headed to the stands- The flag was a non issue and it was not discussed with them.
