Huh? People take (ostensibly) green-eyeshade columns by Paul Krugman about the deficit personally because they perceive an agenda (You selfish people should pay more taxes!). People take (supposedly) sympathetic comments from Sarah Brady about the Lancaster County school shootings personally because they perceive an agenda (You right-wing troglodytes ought be let the government take away your guns!).
