This is a DISGRACE!
Posted on 10/07/2006 4:38:06 PM PDT by dirtboy
I CANNOT BELIEVE WHAT I AM SEEING ON TV!
THE DETROIT TIGERS, HAVING DEFEATED THE YANKEES, ARE NOT CONTENT TO CELEBRATE IN THE LOCKER ROOM.
They have the gall to go out to the field, PUBLICLY CARRYING BOTTLES OF CHAMPAIGN, and are spraying the CROWD WITH SUCH on NATIONAL TV! THIS IS AN OUTRAGE!!!! THINK OF THE CHILDREN GETTING HIT WITH SPRAYS OF CHAMPAIGNE!
Actually, quite frankly, it was so damn refreshing to see a pro sports team appreciate their fans so much, I'm gonna go get another beer and toast them for being so-un, like, today.

Typical Detroit--the city stops and turns the other way for them to 'celebrate'. Same thing happens in East Lansing when they play Ann Arbor. Expect damage.

Party pooper.

I only watch MBL during the playoffs and I'm so happy to see mid-west teams in there.
I love the fact the Yankees are out.
Go Tigers!

This needs to be pointed out to the NY voters in 2008.

Oh, that un_PC display of affection for the fans sure did wreck the city. Party pooper. No, I am not a party pooper. I think restraint on behalf of the fans should be practiced. I don't like digging in my pocket for what reckless fans wreck--I suppose you don't mind?
To: dirtboy
Did I gain anything from this?
Did you?
What a waste of time with other more important, pressing needs.

Rogers was smart enough to ask him first, though.

I'm not a Tigers fan, but I've been pulling for them since they've been bad for so long. It was nice to see them defeat the Darth Vader of baseball. The way the team came back out of the locker room to celebrate with the fans was one of the coolest thing I've seen in sports in a while.

Fox is not happy about this. The ratings will plummet without the Yankees to route against.
