I was surprised at how much threat and force it took to get him to sign the execution order. Baltar of last season would have caved in an instant.

Also, the wimpy President Baltar, is going to get his due..   I may be way off base on this, but it seemed to me they went overboard showing how contemptable Baltar is. The smells to me like a set-up for redemption. I'm really wondering if we're going to see a heroic Baltar later this season.

  Of course, I also saw in the previews a scene of Tricia Helfer trying to convince Baltar he's a Cylon, so I may be completely wrong. Still, I hope not - it could be an interesting plot, and a hopeful one, that even the worst among them can redeem themselves.
