Mentioning Bush or Iraq would cause a backlash among politically ambivalent viewers.
Driving the context up to the anti Bush edge is precisely the design so that when viewers turn off this show and catch a glimpse of American soldier trials they will negatively associate our American militancy with the ominous Cylons they saw on TV.
Don't get me wrong-- I will probably keep watching the same way I read the NYT-- but this is designed to inspire insurgent attacks on coalition forces around the world.
To: tcrlaf
In any other time this story line would not matter but with the war on islamicism in the background I can't see this as anything but a hit job on the West.

As much as I like BSG, I've always had to ignore the anti-Christian comparisons to the Cylons. Now I've gotta ignore the Anti-American theme. Don't ignore them. Just appreciate the creative spark, even of grossly confused people.

I just can't see it this way.....
This show has been dark from the beginning....
To ignore the realities of the world today would be impossible, but I thinks it's FAR more of an indictment against the "Religion of Peace", than "Anti-christian"....

Too many people here are making knee-jerk assumptions not justified by the script.

That was a cheesy cliff hanger then. They showed Rosalyn in future scenes so something must have happened. They don't have to jerk our chains to keep us interested.
Looks like the Cylons now have their own internal split. The hot chicks might be breaking to the human's side.

RDM did say a major character was gonna get it. I can't believe it was Roslyn.

Can we all just for once enjoy a good program? Why not reserve judgment on the storyline until we see the outcome.
All I know, is that its damn good TV.
