If he didn't do it, he should be jailed for stupidity ... what fool would be alone in his home with a female student?

You said -- "f he didn't do it, he should be jailed for stupidity ... what fool would be alone in his home with a female student?"

He wasn't home alone with the female student. There was another person there, at home, too (according to the article). But, the article doesn't make clear where (in the home) the other person was -- at all times...

And so, that begs several other questions, like did the girl run out of one room into another screaming? Or, did the other person run in there and break it up? Or..., what?

That was my reaction as well. I would never allow my self to be in such a compromised situation. Not in today’s world.

So he is a 50 year old teacher, who has two students in his apartment when tutoring. This does not, to me, seem to be outside of the range of smart ways to handle the crazy accusations of the world. Middle school is what used to be called JR High, and as Trailerpark Badass said no 14 year old has ever lied. If he raped her twice, once in the kitchen and once in his son's bedroom, why didn't the other male student hear something? I am not saying this should not be investigated, but unfortunately or fortunately as the case may be, I believe in the innocent until proven guilty theory.

I also have to say that I admire the fact that a teacher will do tutoring himself, not leaving it for either a high school student or a college student. So few teachers are tutoring their students today. This may cause me to want to hear his side of the story.
