the Tyrone Willingham show is on right now....kjram.com
Email Question -- Shouldnt have the Huskies been lined up waiting for the officials?
Ty: The onus on that falls on me, it doesn't matter if it was 5 seconds or 2 seconds, I didnt give them the urgency to get the play snapped.
In the end, yes, he is correct.
They had about 20 seconds to get that play lined up and off, but they didn't get it done.
That's a coaching mistake.
Honestly, without those very same coaches, USC would've won that game.
Allen Bradford (a top linebacker recruit) is the latest to try out at fullback this week. He was looking forward to playing defense or tailback, but was asked to switch to fullback. Reluctant at first, he was reminded that Marcus Allen started his career at USC by playing fullback.
This kid is going to need all the prayers in the world as the fullback position at USC is becoming like the drummer for Spinal Tap :o).
LOL
yeah...
he needs to be reminded that Ricky Williams and Ron Dayne were BOTH fullbacks at the beginning of their college careers as well.
Some say that USC playing these close games is a sign of character, but I don't read it that way. With a young team like this, it's a sign of inconsistency. UW and WSU and really Arizona too would have lost by 50 points each last year.
This year's version of USC just isn't as dominant yet as the last few have been. Mostly due to graduation, but injuries haven't helped.
I agree...they aren't as dominant. It's hard to go undefeated every year. 50-2 record over the last 52 games has definitely warped expectations among the fan base and some media types. It's funny 'cause some of our fans are now going the other way by freaking out. "What the hell is Kiffin doing?" "Where's Chow?"....totally oblivious to the ups and downs of every college program. Some appear to have permanently blocked out the Hackett years (on second thought that might not be bad:o))
LOL
yeah....
but while you see it that way, as do I, the thing I can't stand is the fair weather fans that every program gets when they are dominant for a long time, who will scream and cry that USC isn't clearly a #2 type team.
They aren't, yet.
Personally it's Florida for me.
Following by Michigan.
I'd have USC 4th.
I think that's more than fair. USC (& some of their fans) just need to worry about winning each of their games. The season will whittle away the unbeaten teams.
I imagine that you hope Michigan is undefeated (as well as Ohio State - obviously) when they play the Buckeyes...correct? Should be a helluva game this year?
man that will be the craziest game ever in Columbus.
The game in 2002 was crazy with Ohio State on the brink of the National Championship game and Michigan coming in trying to get into the picture.
I can't imagine, but I'll be in Columbus if it happens.
