A's Win Game 2!

A's take second game against the Twins, in Minnesota, 5-2. Breaks went A's way: Torii Hunter missing the ball and having it roll all the way to Wilmar allowing Kotsay to score on an inside-the-parker; Joe "Pride of the Giants" Nathan wild-pitching Switcher in to score in the 9th.

No Derek Jeter to make an uncanny play. (yet)

I am slightly worried given the history of being up 2-0.

That one was one in a million. Next time that play happens, the runner will be called "safe."

Yeah, I read on another board that the A's are 0-9 in "clinching games" since 2000. But a lot has changed since those dark days. Better veteran presence on the A's now; more maturity in guys like Zito; better bullpen; and no Giambis (as was mentioned earlier).

One problem from today's game: Mark Ellis got his finger broken on a pitch. Jiminez may start at 2nd.

To me, Street has been shaky for quite a while now. I think Duchscherer is the best reliever they have now, and, frankly, I'd feel more comfortable with him as the closer now.

Jiminez may start at 2nd.

Boy, do we miss Crosby now. I'd rather see Scutaro at 2nd.

I agree....when Street has his stuff is is better then Justin.....but Justin seems to be a hell of alot more consistent....and I heard about Ellis....too bad....we need him more for his defense and double play tandem...but we shall just see.....

....hmmm....well since SS is usually the more important position, I think I'd like to see Scutaro stay there, can't Perez play 2nd too or is he only a left side of the infield guy.....he sure can't hit much

Best of luck to your boys today. It will be sweet to see those Twinkies knocked off and another team following the stats-based approach winning a playoff series.

Then its my guys vs. your guys in the ALCS. And I'm not talking about the Yankees. I'm talking about a re-match of the 1972 ALCS. And no Reggie Jackson for you guys this time.

Don't count the Twins out yet.

If they can find their bats, they are unbeatable.
