A's take second game against the Twins, in Minnesota, 5-2. Breaks went A's way: Torii Hunter missing the ball and having it roll all the way to Wilmar allowing Kotsay to score on an inside-the-parker; Joe "Pride of the Giants" Nathan wild-pitching Switcher in to score in the 9th.

And if they reach the World Series, what country do you think they'll be playing this year? Hungary?

A California team playing a Minnesota team. I guess it's too much to hope for that they both lose. ;-p

If anyone thinks that the A's managers get to make decisions of any significance they are dreaming. This team is Billy Beane's show all the way.

Maybe the Tigers got the better deal with NY. They could have won game one easily with a couple of timed hits.

Polanco was playing too deep on the play that allowed two runs to score taking the game to 7-3. Pudge looked like crap at the plate last night as well.

Go 49ers! LOL yea, and take the Raiders with you.

Many thanks, but as has already been pointed out here, the A's have gone up 2-0 in past first round playoff match-ups, only to punt the final three games away (sorry for the mixed metaphor). So, I'm not celebrating until the third game is under their belt.

There's gonna be a Subway Series. The subway doesn't come to St Louis. We have the above-ground light rail- MetroLink.
To: epluribus_2
Yeah, and if they'd beaned Jeter early in the game.
I really thought the Twins might give the Yankees a good run in the first round, but the match-up didn't happen. As an A's fan I didn't relish the idea of opening in that freakish Dome. The Twins have always played the A's hard, and usually best them. it's a relief to be up 2-0. I have to believe that the Tigers will do better tonight.

I want to see the A's in the World Series. And it'll probably end up being with the Dodgers at the rate things are going if the A's manage to get around the Yankees.
To: My2Cents
Don't watch much football anymore. Grew up a Dallas Cowboys fan, since Tom Landry died I have very few people to admire in that game. Still hate the 49ers it has only been 25 years since the catch - these things take time.

A jihad awaits the AL team that makes it to the WS.
