No. 21 also. By the way, good job exposing that odd post and getting it removed. No need for that here.

Haynesworth knew he screwed up, and admitted it last night.

I think a 5 or 6 game suspension is good, and the matter ought to be closed as long a Haynesworth does not re-offend.As I said on another thread, Haynesworth may end up wishing for a much longer suspension than that. I'm sure there are lots of guys in the NFL that'll be eager to give him an on-field lesson in sportsmanship when he returns to play.

He'd better be wearing a titanium cup when he returns to the field.

The NHL suspended Bertuzzi for a year. In this case, if the guy had died or been severely hurt, the sentence would have been longer. I hate that, he should be penalized based on what COULD HAVE happened.

Excellent observation Mr. CFC__WRWC:
Offensive linemen on any team he faces are going to be VERY offensive for quite some time methinks

Exactly. He scarred a man for life just as if he slashed hime with a knife. No difference.

"Everyone including Chris Collingsworth who is talking about calling the cops and charging with battery and so on ought to just shut up."
Should everyone that disagrees with you on anything shut up, or is there a reason that those who disagree with you on this particular issue should shut up?

Geez! Why all the surprise and disgust?
This level of reaction seems equal to the latest revelations in "steroid baseball".
My questions to all you "play nice football" start with; what do you think happens when you pump developmentally arrested, adolescent, millionaires with synthetic hormones? Would you suggest a separate rule book for their behavior? On or off the field?
Where are congressional hearings for the NFL? Let's start with that one.
To: Moral Hazard
Well since you ask, as I stated at the top on the post, it is my opinion and worth what you paid for it, but it is ridiculous to think the NFL would want the civil authorities involved anyone who believes that is crazy, which again is my opinion.
The incident took place on the field of play, there were no foreign objects, (although if you have ever been spiked or cleated it really is unpleasant) were used, the offender was dealt with during the game, and now by the league. You can argue the severity of the punishment but the talk of criminal charges starts a slippery slope no one wants to go down, when does a hit become too vicious, how do we know he wasn't aiming for the quarterback's knee, Hey ref he bit me and I lost the fumble that I'd just recovered? I know lets call the cops and let the DA and grand jury decide. I hate it when the ref's calls markedly affect the outcome of a game, imagine the cops having to sign off on it, nope the Titans won, T.O. had a foreign object screwed into the bone on his hand, Cowboys disqualified.

Oh please... NFL and NBA are nothing but thug wanna be punks... you really think they would honestly fire anyone for that sort of behavior? Please....
They make too much money hocking faux bling to the poor to every actually make one of these bafoons truly pay for acting like a clown.
