Perhaps for simple rape it could be quick and painless death. For rape/murder make it long/slow and unpleasant....

Not that we don't have plenty of home-grown rapists, but Latinos are much more likely than Anglos to commit rape. The Latin "machismo" culture is very misogynistic and violent. In addition, the age of consent is as low as 12 in some Mexican states, depending on circumstances.
So much for the "good-hearted, family values" line!

Thanks for the ping to the report of more open border victims. Some day maybe our leaders will see this needless crime for what it is and put an end to it.
So far the perps get the benefit of any doubts. Awww, we can't send 'em home...

He was an illegal alien first. The punishment should be stepped up in these cases in my opinion.

Supreme Court outlawed the death penalty for rape years and years ago, along with a host of other good and decent practices, I'm sure.

I'm not saying that I disagree with the idea of executing rapists. But unless I'm mistaken, the price that society will pay for executing rapists is that fewer rape victims will live to testify against their attacker.

IIRC,the South was about the only part of the country that ever executed rapists, although I'm not sure of that.

"Hurrah for Polk County Florida Cops who did their job on a similar POS."Agreed. However, watch for some ambulance-chaser to jump in with "unreasonable force" suit for "the family" of the P.O.S.
For the "sake of consistency", I wish police would use like tactics when one of their own is the victim, when it's one of the public.

This is not a rapist. This is a kidnapping, aggravated assault, illegal alien rapist. There are extenuating circumstances here that I believe warrant the death penalty.

Probably both, states are free to be more restrictive. SCOTUS just drove a wooden stake through the practice in case any state ever regains a modicum of sensibility on the issue...

There are extenuating circumstances here that I believe warrant the death penalty.Again,I'm inclined to agree. But I'm led to believe by people who know far more about this stuff than I that such a policy would harm victims of rape and/or kidnapping.

Do you have any information to support your claim that harsh penalties 'hurt rape victims'? Just a few descriptive words, I don't expect a link.

Just a few descriptive words, I don't expect a link.My understanding is that the states that had execution as the penalty for rape repealed those laws because they became convinced that what I've said is true.
If you look at it logically,it makes sense.A guy rapes a woman. He then remembers that he can get the chair for having done so.He then figures,"hey,if I leave her alive, she could finger me and I get the chair.Killing her,and thus shutting her up,might lessen my chances of being executed".

The individual first kidnapped two people. Bound one up (the husband) and raped the other one. You see this as only one felony therefore I cannot agree with your view.

Simply put,if you fix the penalty for any crime short of murder as execution, you up the ante for any innocent civilians or cops who might be a victim of such crimes or the cops who investigate them.
Perhaps a google search of "proportionality" and "criminal justice" might explain what I'm trying to say better than have I.

Thank you! I cannot tell you how many times I've made that same point on FR, to the sound of crickets and absolutely no acknowledgement from the pro-kill-'em posters.

Do you have any relevant information? Making a point is one thing. Proof of any kind is another. I will apologize if proven wrong but I feel quite clearly that this person should be executed.

The last rapist to be executed in California was Caryl Chessman in 1960.
One of the sob sisters wailing outside the prison walls at the event later went on to be Governor of California, Jerry Brown.
