A 5 year old get tooth caps on her first teeth? Does this even make sense?
"A 5 year old get tooth caps on her first teeth? Does this even make sense?"
My question too. It doesn't make any sense to me.
Notice it says *some teeth filled*; more than two is my guess. I can only imagine the condition of that girls mouth, because I've seen some like it. I know of a 5 year old who nearly needed root canals because her mother hated dentists so much, she wouldn't take her.
Some people have unexpected reactions to anethesia, but in this case it doesn't sound like that's it.
It's probably not the "vanity" type of cap that comes to mind. Some children have teeth that are so bad, this needs to be done in order to allow the child to eat. This type is not very attractive, but at least the child can eat solid food.
If you go look at the three other threads already up about this story, you'll see that it is not uncommon to cap children's teeth. This little girl had terrible grinding troubles. God rest her soul.
