That was my first thought. He had some 'cheer' at the wedding and was thrashing around in his sleep, so I moved to the other bed. Even so, if it were bugs, I'd have them by now, wouldn't I?
You may indeed "have" them (which just means they infest your bedding), but you may not have any reaction to them. Many people get bitten at night and never notice - others are allergic. It's worth checking. If you have them, you should be able to lift the mattress and possibly see tiny parts of bedbugs who have already met their demise.

Bedbugs hide all over the place. My daughter's friend came back from vacation with them. My daughter had these red rashes and itchy bites on her for weeks without a clue what it was. Finally I said cut a tear in the mattress and they saw the critters all over . It was horrible. They had to toss out the bed, sofa and any stuffed furniture. They had to bomb the apt as the info on the website they looked at says they will hide under picture frames. It cost them a fortune. I truly hope its not bedbugs. ewwwwww
