This is actually great to watch (and, again, glad I'm not a Cards' fan). Their's is a collapse of Biblical proportions.

True but it doesnt say much for Houston in that they are still half game behind and both teams have nearly 20 fewer victories this year than in the last two years. The entire Central Division sucks. Actually so does the entire National League.

This collapse reminds me of the '69 Cubs. Something like seven games ahead with seven games left in the season and they lost to the Mets.

Had it not been for Houston's amazing surge over the past couple of weeks, the Cards would have backed into the playoffs. The Mets will likely go to the WS, so it's all academic. But the race in the Central certainly makes for high drama.
