Both B5 and DS9 were about character development. Both MS and RDM are gifted to be sure.

Yep, plus the episode of DS9 where they go in the past and they where praising socialism (I think it was called Past Tense I could be mistaken) soured my opinion of DS9...
Watching 2.5 DVDs of BSG now. I'll have to rewatch Past Tense again.

RDM was doing DS9. He kinda seems to me as an independent thinker type with BSG. Do you think it was Rick Berman's direction over RDM in DS9?

You gotta wonder just how much the Iraq war is influencing RDM though.
From what I have seen so far, I think he understands why we are at war.. So far I haven't seen any anti-war episodes yet...
Ok, I guess that I am not totally sure what Season 2.5 is. Is that where they find the planet and settle there? If so I have seen it. Someone please answer...JFK

Yeah, 2.5 starts with the end of the Cain plot and continue through the finding of New Caprica the election of Baltar as President and the settling on New Caprica, then jumps ahead a year to the Cylons finding NC and taking over. 3 starts some time after that, the previews look awesome.
Not only that, but JMS pitched B5 to Paramount and soon after they started setting up for DS9. There were accusations that Paramount copied the concept, but how can you prove something like that?
Well look at the story lines of DS9 and B5... Espcially the series finale of DS9 and end of Season 3 of Babylon 5.. My main beef with DS9 was with episode called Past Tense.. However, my favorite episode was with the Tribbles...
