Oprah Lords Over White Folk, Talks Poop on XM Posted Sep 25th 2006 1:52PM by TMZ Staff Filed under: Oprah
If it wasn't already totally evident that Oprah Winfrey can talk about anything for any length of time, her debut today on her own XM Radio channel just confirmed it. The talk-show queen gabbed with her best pal Gayle King (who called her, inexplicably, "Mommy") on what is nominally King's show on "Oprah & Friends," the satellite channel that launched today.
Among many, many other things, Oprah talked about her humble beginnings in Mississippi, and particularly about how her mother's highest aspiration for her was that she might end up cleaning white people's houses, because "they give away nice clothes." And then Oprah pointed out that now that she's Oprah, she has "all these white people" working for her, and that in fact there's only one black person on the staff. Way to turn the tables, girl.
Finally -- and this was just in the first fifteen minutes -- Oprah moved onto her most recent favorite topic, excrement. O assured Gayle that the reason she doesn't have children wasn't that she can't deal with poo, or "pooty," as the pair called it. For this -- and whatever follows -- is what XM is paying Oprah $55 million over the next three years.

I've long suspected Oprah was a lesbo and Stedman was her well paid off "beard".

She has caught some flack as her money managers are all Caucasian.
She made some 'donations' and the issue went away.

What she forgets is that she works for the white woman. They are the ones who pay her salary so she can act the fool. They made you who you are. You are the one who is the slave of the white woman, girl! If they want to shut you down, you are toast.

Actually, she did not "steal" anything from Donahue.
If anything, she was closer to being one of the first female "anti-Donahues" among the daytime TV talk show hosts.
Jerry Springer is Donahue's rightfull heir...
I am not a fan of the TV talk show genre, but little else is available on network TV during the hours of 3-5pm.
It may come as a complete shock to you personally, but not even close to every USA household has pay TV.(cable/satellite)
Potentially even more shocking, there are some of us who actually remember Oprah's debut TV show fondly, and encouraged her success.
Of course, "we" were not particular fans of "Martha Stewart Living" either.

Actually, even more annoying, is the realization that you might actually vote.
I doubt it, it's probably just an idle threat, but on the off chance that you follow through...
Shudder the thought that the two inchers acquire even more power!

Obviously you have no experience in being on the "wrong end of racial equality".
I have to laugh at many of the posters here.
Lying hypocrites towing an anti-right wing liberal PC line!
My own paternal grandmother detested myself, and my siblings because we were part "Indian" abominations.(as in Sioux).
I am not yet 50, so no, I don't think all is now sweetness and light, or harmonious among the various "races and classes" of multi-generational USA citizens.
And the very idea that nominal Republicans would jump on the "hush your mouth" liberal PC bandwagon to shush people from talking about our "differences" annoys me endlessly.
I worked and fought my way out of a "low class white trash" environment.
Oprah had an even higher mountain to climb, and she left me clapping my hands for her, while still wallowing in the dust, over a decade ago.
I think she is dead wrong in her political choices, but that's about all I would care to argue with her about.

Yeah. That is sort of nutty . . asking marital advice from Oprah. She is qualified to give plenty of "shacking up" advice. I can't deal with Oprah's "guruism" that she has conferred upon herself because she makes a lot of money, and a lot of her jabberwocky is roody pooh.

Hmm.... hit a nerve did I? So you are a oprah fan eh? Seems like they are some idiot fans on the conservative side as well. Here is a hint..get a social life instead of sitting on your backside watching TV then may be you have some thing else to do besides watching oprah and her idiotic rantings.

I remember those days! Oprah started out in 1985 on a morning show called "AM Chicago", and she was a COMPLETELY different person back then. Very unaffected. Everybody in Chicago loved her. Then as the years passed and the richer she got...well, you know the rest.

I don't think all is now sweetness and light, or harmonious among the various "races and classes" of multi-generational USA citizens. You got that right. My mother-in-laws' pastor has a hispanic wife. They have three beautiful grown daughters now. To this day, his parents will not speak to his wife or daughters at any family events. Why? Because they are hispanic. His parents are just bigots.

Which Oprah did, as did I, and many millions of other people, for various reasons.
Do forgive us (sarcasm) for mentioning it, and exercising our freedom of speech.
"This is America, where all have equal opportunities to achieve their dreams."
Exactly.
And we can also freely encourage, applaud, mentor and otherwise assist others to achieve their own dreams.
Or does that also offend you?
