I installed Beryl and the latest Nvidia drivers last night. Edgy has AIGLX built in, so you don't need XGL.
I have Vista RC1 on my other computer and it looks like a dolled up XP.

Ah, but that's the deep end of the pool for you...
Right, like I can't grasp the mechanics of a cube. The point of my post was that if Linux wants to make gains on the home desktop, this isn't the way to go about it. I'm sure server admins and the few enthusiasts who bother with Linux will find it interesting, and it'll improve over time, but I'm pretty sure Apple's implementation of multiple desktops will prove a better solution for actually getting things done.
I commend you for your excellent job of arguing like a liberal.

What you need? * A fresh install of Ubuntu Dapper + all the updates * A Windows box with a functional install of Dreamweaver 8 and Flash 8, or Macromedia Studio 8. So much for Linux making Windows obsolete, and Wine is horrible, it can run Photoshop 7(barely and buggy), Linux is ok, but its not ready to compete with Microsoft just yet, and probably never will be.

Click on any page and it will fill the screen.
A curser gesture towards the upper right corner will give you the 4(or 5,6,etc.)again.

Yep, you have to keep track of windows in a 3D space. Not exactly the most user-friendly idea.

Was messing around with 6.10 this morning.
It may still be a little too edgy. The device database collection process locked up at this point:

You're messing around with the "live" CD.
Thw live CD doesn't have the capabilities of an installed Ubuntu.

Well said,...the 3D cube helps with management of multiple windows...
To: Ernest_at_the_Beach
There are much simpler methods for that. Like Expose.
