Savarin DeJesus spent her Friday night downing gin and smoking cigarettes before returning to the homeless shelter where she and her 4-month old baby girl lived.
The 18-year-old woman went to sleep with the baby at her side, but soon started throwing up in a bucket next to her bed filled with cleaning solution and water.
It ended up costing the baby her life: The infant fell into a puke-filled bucket and died.
DeJesus was charged with criminally negligent homicide and endangering the welfare of a child.

I'm sure the left will say that this happened because the woman was forced by the evil Republicans to live in a homeless shelter.

Yea, and she had to get stupid drunk because her life is in the dumper!
Or, could it possibly be that getting comatose drunk could be the reason she is living in some sh!thole and killing her baby in vomit?
Naw, its the evil GOP that caused this.

She had enough money for gin and cigarettes, but not enough to give her baby a decent home.

I have seen MSNBC specials on the teen homeless community. Many of them love the fact they are homeless and the ones who have children want them to grow up that way instead of being a conformist and living the supposed "ideal" life in soceity.

She had time to drink and smoke and party with her friends. Concepts such as finding a place of her own, getting a job,
or trying to better herself and her child are foreign to her. This is what liberal social policies have wrought and they should be defunded immediately.

Yeah, they think it's so romantic.

I don't mean to sound like I think I'm so smart, but even when I was that age I knew better.

If you live in a shelter, don't they make you abide by some rules, such as, for instance....YOU DON'T GO OUT AND GET RIPROARING DRUNK????

Obviously this one doesn't care, plus I wonder who took care of her baby while she was out partying.

If you live in a shelter, don't they make you abide by some rules I was thinking the same thing. The homeless shelter here in Green Bay forbids members from going out to the bars. And they must be actively looking for a place to stay.

A the story yesterday had her living in a "group home" so I figured she was retarded or something, and wondered about the management of the home. Now that it comes out she is in a homeless shelter it changes my view on the situation. Fry the ex-mom.

They cost $8.00 a pack in Chicago, I'm sure they're much more in New York.

It's not clear if the shelter, called the Fox House, had a crib. A spokeswoman with the city's Department of Homeless Services was trying to determine if the shelter had one available and if an investigation had been launched into whether the shelter had followed appropriate guidelines. And did you notice that they're trying to pin the blame on the shelter?

God, what a nasty way to die. She should have her ovaries cut out so she can't produce any more offspring to die by her gross negligence.
