My primary reason for posting this on the other hand is the various and sundry arguments about Islam being a religion of peace, holy jihad, murder, martyrdom, convertion under threat of death etc. etc. etc.
With 40 "readings" and "scholars" indicating that "7 to 14" of these readings are "legitimate," it seems that mathematically one could attribute almost any action or non-action to a reading of the Quran.
Now I know that there are different versions of the Bible, but I haven't heard of any of them suggesting the equivalent of jihad.

Very good point as well. There is none that I have come across either. In fact, it's the opposite with Jesus. The true definition of his LOVE is - giving to someone that needs it, but does not deserve it.
