It was a simple joke (I can't resist the really stupid ones.)
I read the end of your sentence quoting the other post as "seventeen inches." It wouldn't have looked the same on the original post.
(I just posted on a very similar thread the other day, so the only serious thing I'd have to say would just sound like a broken record.)
