'Sexy substitute' gets no jail time

A female high-school substitute teacher in Utah will serve no time behind bars for performing oral sex on a 17-year-old male student, despite comments from the judge that a man would have likely gone to prison.

"If this was a 29-year-old male and a 17-year-old female, I would be inclined to order some incarceration," noted 3rd District Judge Mark Kouris during sentencing yesterday for Cameo Patch.

Patch was a fill-in instructor at Tooele High School, and was arrested after an informant disclosed her alleged relationship with the boy.

She was put on probation for 36 months, and ordered to obtain a psycho-sexual evaluation, as well as pay a $2,000 fine.

"The only thing I can say is that I understand the mistake that I made," Patch told the judge, according to the Salt Lake Tribune. "It opened my eyes to the life I want to live for myself and my [three] kids. I'll never wind up in this situation again."

She and her husband divorced last month.

Patch and the boy reportedly met in the classroom, but engaged in the alleged wrongdoing off campus after school. All indications are the sexual activity was consensual.

According to the police report, "... [Patch] and the juvenile met in a local restaurant, exchanged phone numbers, and arranged to meet to talk later in the evening. During the course of the meeting between the two, sexual activity between [Patch] and the juvenile occurred."

The informant stated Patch "performed oral sex" on the student, but did not engage in sexual intercourse.

Defense attorney Jon Williams said the boy had "created the environment and invited..."

What is the age of consent in Utah? Was just the teacher/student part of this illegal? What if she hadn't been his teacher, but just met the 17-year old on the street, talked to him and brought him home? Would that be illegal too?

Because there are two distincly different sexes. A 110 lb woman is not a danger to force herself upon ANY 17 yo boy. There is also a difference in the damage caused in such a relationship versus a male teacher female student.

I could go on and on. The gals in the Prison though will miss having this little thing hanging around though.

I hate that it seems strangely justifiable when the woman is attractive. As a guy, I know my own mental and physical faculties were more than fully developed by the time I was 17, so a relationship with an older women would have seemed just fine (aside from the fact that it would be a sin before God outside of marriage).

Obviously, the problem is that the law requires it to be 5 years over 17 for the maximum age difference, or to not be a teacher in authority over the student.

We guys know it wasn't excessively coerced if we find her attractive. We are disgusted at the thought an unattractive woman would make us have sex, similar in ways to being accosted by a gay man. Our bodies physically react to what we find physically attractive and we have no sexual interest in that which doesn't.

It is hard to be a man.

I don't know about women's sexual appetites, but one word of advice to all female teachers, especially reasonably attractive ones: If you do it with a teenage boy all his friends and his friends' friends and their friends are going to know about it in a nanosecond. If you're luckly the worst thing that'll happen to you is that you'll get hit on by some pimply refugee from algebra class. If the press finds out, you'll star on FNC and CNN for at least a week.

A person in authority over a juvie has a standard of conduct within laws.

What you're saying is that I can go and have sex with all the 17 year olds I want in juvie lock down as long as I'm cute and they want it.....

Even if they are there to get better from their psychosis.
