Can anyone give me advice on how to capture a still from a video and convert it to a jpeg or gif file. Thanks in advance.
Good question.
I'm sure I could research it, but I'm also equally sure that many freepers already know how.
You'll need a video capture card. Bacon Man caps video shots all the time - perhaps he can elaborate?
I did it once a long time ago, but have forgotten since. I tried the, "Print Screen and paste to paint," thing, but it doesn't work.
I'd like to know too!
That sounds logical
I just talked to my coworkers and they said that can actually work
It's a special video card for your computer, so you'll also need a way to hook your computer up to your recording device, or to transfer the video to your computer so you can clip from there.
You, are a genius.
You need a video capture card. It is usually packaged with video editing software like Ulead or something similar.
OMG...LMAO
Keep checking, someone will have an answer. :o)
It depends on where your video is located (already on a computer or on a video playback device - VCR, camcorder, CD, etc).
Try this: http://www.traction-software.co.uk/screengrabpro/
It works like a charm for me.
I just tried it a couple of weeks ago with a DVD. It SEEMED to work, until I tried to move the pasted image into a corner. The image wouldn't move, but the frame would -all I got was a black screen.
jusr pause the video your watching the press "print screen" then open paint or Photoshop choose file/new then press Crtl+V(Paste) the your whole screen will now in inside the image just crop what you need then save the file... walla. :)
That's what I did in post #17. Didn't work for me.
