Here in FL a man would be toasted.
I know someone (man) who had sex with a trio of teens, mostly older. They were not separate incidents, and the kids tried to shake him down for money after.
He is doing 105 years in prison.
I guess the legal ideal of proportional punishment is not actually codified in law.
