A boy/young man that is over 6' tall would more than likely have the equivalant maturity.

But I ask all these 'poor poor 14 year old' (not that I am lacking sympathy myself), but if this 14 year old shot an old woman in point blank range and showed no remorse, would he be getting as much sympathy as a victim that didn't know what he was doing?

Sorry about being a smartazz...

All I want is consistent protection, without a "well, it's OK if its a boy and the woman is cute" etc.

Either we protect all consistently or we protect none....but when there are codicils, then all is lost (in my opinion).
