In an blockbusting EXCLUSIVE interview on Dateline NBC, correspondent Matt Lauer sat down with Debra Lafave, the 23 year-old teacher who had sex with a 14 year-old boy on several occasions which made national headlines.
For some ungodly reason, NBC decided this was a groundbreaking story that needed to be told to America. I have one question
Why is Debra Lafave on television?
There have been notable people who have earned the right to recognition. Sports heroes, movie stars, business and religious leaders, respected politicians and cultural groundbreakers have all proven worthy of the media attention paid to them. That is why we feel we know Michael Jordan, Jennifer Anniston, Donald Trump, Reverend Billy Graham, John McCain and Simon Cowell. They have been talented, colorful, daring, mesmerizing, dynamic, blessed and outrageous! But, they have not broken the law, are not mentally ill and do not continue to lie and be in denial about their irresponsible behavior... [more at CaliforniaRepubic]

"Where were these hot-to-trot gorgeous teachers when I was 14?"
I agree, back in the late 50's my home room teacher was in her 70's and always left a jar of Poly-Grip on her desk as a paper weight.
You need to be careful, pissant...
The thread police are trolling here looking for people who speak the truth, not matter how unpalatable it is.
ROTFLMAO!
i happened to be glancing thru tv and saw interview but turned it off immediately
Because the leftists in charge at the media love this! They want this to happen. They like anything that leads to the breakdown of the moral order.
Note the double standard- they would never have a man on TV who did an equivalent thing.
That even conservative men can be pigs too?
OK< I agree!
Oh well. She reminds me of my 6th grade teacher, who wore miniskirts all the time. I'm forever grateful.
"Why is Debra Lafave on television?"
Let me count the ways:
1. ABC's a sucker for a pretty face...
2. Double standard...
3. Voyeurism...
4. Society likes it's pretty perverts...
5. We care not for our children's helplessness...
6. To show society's ineptitude...
7. To entertain the viewers...
Feel free to add other reasons...
One of them was in my junior high school. To the best of my knowledge, she was not intimately involved with any of the students (in the world of reality, that is).
I did too, but only for a gazillionth of a second.
The answer is clear, and illustrates the desperation and stench of the media in its effort to get to the top and stay up there in ratings.
I like you!
As a guy you've got two choices if you're going to comment on stories like this:
1. Let the daydream escape from your noggin and say something wolfish.
2. Keep the daydream tucked safely away, and lay down some "tsk, tsk" type statement to avoid coming across as a pig.
For most guys faced with a visual image it's Go Directly to Daydream, do not pass go, do not consider the fact the actual people are involved here. Of course you've got to develop your tsk, tsk face and attitude for those instances when it's socially crass to let slip anything else. Some of us actually get really good at that.
Whenever there's an exceptionally attractive lady walking by, instead of looking at her, look at the other ladies in the area. They're either watching the same lady themselves, or watching you to see your reaction. I like busting out people trying to bust me out. People watching is fun.
LOL. We have had this conversation before. We will just have to agree to agree.
"On this site and this thread, you're an exception, not the rule (sadly)."
I have two boys, one of which is the age of her victim. Most guys here appear to be thinking with their adolescent memories and its quite disgusting. I suggest they grow up. The world is full of beautful women who don't rape children.
Sex between an adult and a child is not a good thing. Some children make it through ok, but most are negatively effected to some degree.
:)
I still think Terminator 3 when I see her.
I still think Terminator 3 when I see her.
You're preaching to the chior.
Lots of things in this world I can give a pass to....
But child predators of any gender or appearance I hate with a passion.
The end.
Now, THAT was an answer and a half.
Honesty is a difficult thing for people to accept sometimes, because some people just are not prepared for it. Honesty is not always politically correct, fun or even attractive. But often, it is the truth.
