In an blockbusting EXCLUSIVE interview on Dateline NBC, correspondent Matt Lauer sat down with Debra Lafave, the 23 year-old teacher who had sex with a 14 year-old boy on several occasions which made national headlines.
For some ungodly reason, NBC decided this was a groundbreaking story that needed to be told to America. I have one question
Why is Debra Lafave on television?
There have been notable people who have earned the right to recognition. Sports heroes, movie stars, business and religious leaders, respected politicians and cultural groundbreakers have all proven worthy of the media attention paid to them. That is why we feel we know Michael Jordan, Jennifer Anniston, Donald Trump, Reverend Billy Graham, John McCain and Simon Cowell. They have been talented, colorful, daring, mesmerizing, dynamic, blessed and outrageous! But, they have not broken the law, are not mentally ill and do not continue to lie and be in denial about their irresponsible behavior... [more at CaliforniaRepubic]

Thanks :)
These threads just make me way more cynical about us vs them, good vs evil, right vs left....
A pig is a pig is a pig I've learned.
"Doncha just LOVE the consistancy!?!"
Actually, if you think about it, that is its own consistancy.
Which happened because he was an ammoral piece of scum.
It all ties together...integrity in one area flows into all areas.
Don't say sorry! I was supporting and agreeing with you.
Yeah,
You're right....
a pig is a pig is a pig....
> This is what happens when society throws God out of the public square. Morals go with him.
Yeah, nothing like his *ever* happened before they added "Under God" to the Pledge.
Because she gets great ratings in the 13 to 17-year-old Male Demographic, of course!
OUCH!!!!!!
When we were 14 I don't think we were so inundated with sex as kids are today. The only things we had were National Geographic, Sears catalogs and Playboy if we found our dads or older brothers.
My freshman year in highschool (1974), there was a teachers strike, and we had classed well into June. The school was terribly hot, and one teacher in particular was a young, beautiful woman, probably about 23 or 24, and I had her for "Advanced Political Behavior," an AP social studies class. Well, she liked wearing sun dresses, and there were a few times she came in bra-less! During our reading, there would be a long line of guys to her desk (where she was sitting), asking for some personalized help. Once you got up to the desk, there was a bird's eye view for a young teenager!
Maybe we weren't so innundated with sex, but it was still on our minds.
Mark
Because Matt thinks she's hot.
I was referring to what honestly happened at her sentencing. In honesty, the judge reacted with his nethers to her.....and forgot the law.
I wanted to slap Miss Teacher Debra when she told Matt Lauer that the boy "wanted it" too.
I do, however, have tons of respect for her former husband who has been honest and decent since this whole saga began in the media.
'The feminazi's wont like this, but there is a difference between this boy and if it was a girl. A girl would have lost much more if this case was reversed, thats just a fact."
Nope, girls mature faster than boys. This isn't about having the hymen broken. Its about a child predator putting a few moment of self gratification above the welfare of a child. Its about having a teacher prey on her students instead of teaching the basics.
Girls react differently to sex AND get over broken relationshps quicker and easier at that age.
If anything, the situation should be reversed.
Re seeing a photo of the "victim"...
It's only a matter of time now. After
all, even though he MAY have been
alone with her in the classroom after
hours, he was NOT alone in his date
outings with her. There was his
cousin and another boy, the aunt
who spotted them and told the Mom,
who KNOWS how many lawyers at this
point, plus the rest of the faculty,
school board and para-professionals
(not to mention all THEIR significant
others), and doubtless, 113% of
the student body. Additionally,
there are the multiple school yearbooks
with all kinds of graffiti indicating
this lad's special education course!
The REAL question is:
How many teeny-boppers are out there
trying to gain this kid's attention,
leaving notes in his locker, edging
ever closer at the lunch table?
What I DON'T quite get is WHY the
Mother would condescend to go
public about her son's emotional
reactions to seeing his "amour"
talking about him on TV. And WHY
would Mom subject him to such a
TV program? Think she may be
receiving legal advice re a
potential Civil Suit down the line?
But you're a guy.
As a female, I can say I think a girl would have faired better than you think. But we still have laws.
Maybe we can lower the age of consent to erm, 12 nationwide.
Oink.
